Piletilevi PLG Acquires Czech and Slovak Market Leader Ticketportal

AS Piletilevi PLG has taken a major and historic step by acquiring Ticketportal, the leading ticketing platform in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As a result of the transaction, Piletilevi PLG’s total ticketing volume will double, reaching nearly €600 million annually. The transaction was completed on June 12th in Prague.

This acquisition marks a strategic expansion that strengthens PLG’s position in the international market and lays a solid foundation for further investments. The company now operates in seven European countries, uniting regional market leaders under one strong group.

“This transaction is a natural continuation of our long-term strategy to become the leading ticketing company in all of our home markets, providing the most efficient sales channel for event organizers,” commented Sven Nuutmann, Chairman of the Management Board of Piletilevi PLG. “Ticketportal is a strong and trusted brand—one could even say a crown jewel in the Czech and Slovak markets. Merging the Ticketportal brand and team with our group opens up new opportunities for both sides. We eagerly look forward to the challenges and success stories we’ll build together,” Nuutmann added.

PLG entered the Czech and Slovak markets in 2023 by acquiring a majority stake in GoOut.net. Together with PLG, the company continued under the leadership of CEO and minority shareholder Lukáš Jandač, with whom they have achieved remarkable results in a short period. This joint journey has now reached a new milestone with the acquisition of the former market leader in both countries.

“By bringing GoOut, Ticketstream, and now Ticketportal under one roof, we are building something truly unprecedented in the region,” said Lukáš Jandač, CEO of PLG Czech Republic. “Our overall goal is to cover as much of the market as possible. We want to offer the most comprehensive solutions for every type of event in Czechia and Slovakia—regardless of size, genre, or location.”

After the transaction is complete, Lucia Bočánková will continue in her role as Sales Director, while Lukáš Jandač will formally take over as CEO of Ticketportal, and Sven Nuutmann will serve as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Nuutmann added that PLG will continue investing in technology and the development of a new group-wide ticketing platform, aimed at offering customers the best possible features. “We firmly believe that technology alone does not sell tickets—it is the strength and stability of our user base that does. Technology simply facilitates the transaction with efficiency and ease. A unified platform covering the entire group and backed by Central Europe’s largest audience provides event organizers with a unique and fastest sales channel. It also opens the door to selling tickets across all PLG markets. Migration to the new platform has already begun and will be completed in the Baltics and Central Europe by the end of 2026.”

The transaction is financed in partnership between PLG and SEB Bank. Financial advisory was provided by WOOD & Company, and legal counsel by PRK Partners s.r.o.

According to Peep Jalakas, Member of the Management Board of SEB Bank, the deal clearly demonstrates Piletilevi PLG’s capacity to grow in international markets:

“We support ambitious companies with a long-term vision that aim to expand beyond their home markets. Piletilevi PLG is a great example of this. SEB is not just a financier—we are committed to growing together with our clients and offering active advisory support. As an international bank, we are pleased to support Piletilevi PLG’s continued growth in Central and Eastern Europe, including the financing of the largest transaction in the company’s history. Moves like this confirm that Estonian companies have the potential to play a key role in the European culture and entertainment industry,” Jalakas commented.

PLG, now active in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Romania, is the largest ticketing operator in Central Europe, with continued ambitions to expand. PLG, in collaboration with Enskilda and Superia, is in the final stages of a new financing round aimed at raising new capital from the bond markets. This, combined with support from SEB Bank, will ensure sustainable expansion.

PLG is owned by entrepreneur Sven Nuutmann’s investment company Angel Rose Capital, the Baltics’ largest private equity firm BaltCap, and the Estonian capital-based investment company Tristafan. Operating across seven countries with a combined population of approximately 80 million, PLG celebrated its 28th anniversary in spring 2025. The group’s annual ticket volume has grown to over 21 million tickets worth €600 million, and its websites attract over 160 million visits annually. PLG’s greatest strength is its professional team of 350 people who work every day to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
